The Miami Dolphins are gearing up for the 2024 season as they prepare to kick off their offseason workouts and practices starting on April 15.
The NFL announced that the Dolphins will begin their Organized Team Activities in late May, with on-field practice sessions scheduled for May 20-21, May 23, May 28-29, and May 31. The team will then move on to their mandatory minicamp on June 4-6.
While participation in the offseason workouts is voluntary, players are incentivized to attend with weekly paychecks and workout bonuses in their contracts. The NFL Draft will take place on April 25-27, and the Dolphins will bring in their selections and undrafted signees for rookie minicamp after May 12.
The offseason workout program is divided into three phases as per the NFL’s collective bargaining agreement.
Phase one focuses on strength and conditioning, phase two includes on-field workouts with no live contact, and phase three allows for 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 drills, leading up to the mandatory minicamp.
Fans will have to wait until training camp in late July to get a glimpse of the new-look Dolphins, who are working on rebuilding their offensive line and most of the defense.
The offseason is a crucial time for the team to teach and experiment with personnel, laying the foundation for the upcoming season. While the workouts are not open to the public, select practices will be open to the media.
