Former University of Texas defensive tackle T’Vondre Sweat, a promising prospect for the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft, found himself in trouble as he was arrested for driving while intoxicated, according to the Travis County Sherriff’s office in Texas.
Despite his recent off-field issues, Sweat has been regarded as one of the top defensive tackle prospects by NFL.com analyst Brucky Brooks.
His exceptional performance in his final season at Texas earned him the title of the Big 12’s Defensive Player of the Year in 2023, along with being named a first-team All-American.
Sweat’s impressive stats included 45 tackles, eight tackles for loss, two sacks, four pass breakups, and even a blocked kick.
Adding to his list of accomplishments, Sweat was also honored with college football’s prestigious Outland Trophy, awarded to the nation’s best interior lineman in either offensive or defensive positions.
With the 2024 NFL Draft scheduled to kick off on April 25 in Detroit, Sweat will have to navigate through this legal issue and prove his worth to potential teams looking to add talent to their roster.
