Every year, the NFL draft is filled with excitement and anticipation as teams look to add new talent to their rosters. However, not every draft pick lives up to expectations, and some players end up being major disappointments. Over the past decade, there have been several players who have failed to meet the high expectations placed on them, regardless of the best intentions of their teams.

One of the teams that has had their fair share of draft busts is the Cleveland Browns. In fact, the Browns make multiple appearances on the list of the worst draft picks of the past decade. One such player is Corey Coleman, a wide receiver who was selected in the first round of the 2016 draft. Coleman’s career never took off as expected, and he lasted only two years in Cleveland before being out of the league.

Another notable draft bust is quarterback Johnny Manziel, who was selected by the Browns in the first round of the 2014 draft. Manziel was known more for his off-field antics than his performance on the field, and he played only two seasons in the NFL before his career came to an end.

More recently, the New York Jets made a questionable decision in selecting quarterback Zach Wilson with the second overall pick in the 2021 draft. Wilson has struggled to find success with the Jets, throwing more interceptions than touchdowns and completing just 57 percent of his passes.

Other players on the list of the worst draft picks of the past decade include Greg Robinson, Justin Gilbert, John Ross, Josh Rosen, Trey Lance, Kevin White, and Isaiah Wilson. These players were all highly touted prospects coming out of college, but for various reasons, they were unable to live up to their potential in the NFL.

Ultimately, the NFL draft is never a sure thing, and even the most promising prospects can turn out to be major disappointments. However, these draft busts serve as cautionary tales for teams and general managers as they look to build their rosters and find the next star player.
