Jordan Poyer, the former All-Pro safety, is set to embark on a new chapter in his NFL career as he joins the Miami Dolphins on a one-year deal.

Poyer, who spent seven seasons with the Buffalo Bills, expressed his gratitude for his time in Buffalo but is excited for his new opportunity in South Florida.

The Dolphins, coming off a successful 2023 season with an 11-6 record, aim to build on their recent progress under head coach Mike McDaniel.

Despite reaching the playoffs for the second consecutive year, Miami fell short of advancing further, losing to the eventual Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, during Super Wild Card Weekend.

Poyer’s release from the Bills was a strategic move to clear cap space and facilitate team rebuilding ahead of free agency. While initially surprised by the decision, Poyer acknowledged the business aspect of the NFL and is looking forward to contributing his skills to the Dolphins defense.

With an impressive career resume that includes over 800 tackles, 24 interceptions, and 10 forced fumbles, Poyer brings a wealth of experience to the Dolphins roster.

His familiarity with the AFC East and admiration for Coach McDaniel played a significant role in his decision to sign with Miami.
