New England Patriots wide receiver, JuJu Smith-Schuster, found himself in a compromising position recently when he accidentally posted an image showing more than he intended on Snapchat. The 27-year-old Super Bowl champion with the Kansas City Chiefs quickly deleted the image after realizing his mistake.
The snap, posted on April 13, showed Smith-Schuster sitting in the passenger seat of a car, possibly with his girlfriend. The embarrassing incident has since sparked backlash from fans on the internet, with many calling it a “new low” for the NFL star. Despite the incident, Smith-Schuster has yet to comment on the matter.
In 2023, Smith-Schuster agreed to a three-year, $33 million contract and had a decent season with 29 catches for 260 yards and one touchdown in 11 appearances. However, his performance was not up to expectations under the leadership of Bill Belichick. With Belichick’s departure from the organization after a disappointing 4-13 record, Smith-Schuster may have a better year ahead in 2024.
Prior to his time with the Patriots, Smith-Schuster spent five years with the Pittsburgh Steelers and had a one-year stint with Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, where he won Super Bowl LVII.
This is not the first time Smith-Schuster has faced internet backlash, as he previously went viral in 2020 for his controversial TikTok posts where he was seen dancing on the logos of other franchises.
Despite initially defending his actions, he eventually took a break from the platform to avoid being a “distraction.”
