Where did Dion Dawkins go to college?

At Rahway High School in Rahway, New Jersey, Dawkins picked up the moniker “the Shnowman.” Dawkins committed to the Cincinnati Bearcats initially before signing with Temple in January 2013.

From 2013 until 2016, Dawkins was a Temple player, starting 41 of his 44 career games. After his senior year, Dawkins was selected for the First Team All-American Athletic Conference.

Did Dion Dawkins play college football?

Dawkins was given a spot on the North team’s starting guard roster for the Senior Bowl. He was voted the Senior Bowl’s outstanding offensive lineman as the North fell to the South 15-16.

Following his Senior Bowl preparation and strong performance, he saw an increase in his draft prospects. He participated in the NFL Combine and finished all of the positional and combine workouts.

Dawkins chose to attempt the vertical leap one more at Temple’s Pro Day, increasing his result from the Combine by two inches. He and 13 other teammates, including Temple’s top prospect Haason Reddick, were being scouted by 40 scouts and representatives from all 32 NFL teams during the positional exercises.

Dawkins was chosen by the Buffalo Bills in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft (63rd overall).

Following Western Kentucky guard Forrest Lamp, Dawkins was selected as the second offensive guard in 2017.

Dawkins signed a four-year, $4.18 million contract with the Buffalo Bills on May 19, 2017, with $1.83 million guaranteed and a $1.18 million signing bonus. He participated in all 16 contests, starting 11 of them at left tackle in Cordy Glenn’s place. In 2017, Pro Football Focus gave Dawkins an overall score of 74.5.

Following the Buffalo Bills’ trade of Cordy Glenn to the Cincinnati Bengals, Dawkins attended training camp in 2018 with the intention of starting at left tackle. To open the regular season, head coach Sean McDermott selected Dawkins as the starting left tackle.
