Chiefs rookie wide receiver Skyy Moore scored his first career NFL touchdown in the final quarter of the 2022 season.
Moore, who was chosen by the Bosses in the second round of last year’s NFL Draft, additionally scored the last score of the time for Kansas City. Moore caught a 4-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Patrick Mahomes in the fourth quarter of Super Bowl LVII, giving the Chiefs an eight-point lead.
Harrison Butker’s field goal with 8 seconds left gave the Chiefs the victory, 38-35, after the Eagles tied the game. Moore was excited when he arrived at the end zone unhindered and he started to celebrate.
Mahomes, who was watching, intervened to prevent Moore from losing the ball. Mahomes knew that the ball from his first NFL touchdown or Super Bowl score was a keepsake.
Mahomes made every effort to ensure that Moore would have the ball, as an NFL Films video demonstrates. After all, that’s the kind of thing a person would one day show their grandchildren.
