Forsyth redshirted his freshman year at Oregon. He participated in five games the next two seasons, playing right guard, right tackle, and left guard. In 2020, he became a full-time starter, starting all seven games at centre during the COVID-19 pandemic-shortened season. He was chosen second-team all-conference after leading the offensive in snaps and allowing only one sack.
Forsyth participated in 10 of 14 games in 2021, starting nine at centre and earning second-team all-conference accolades once more. He chose to return to Oregon in 2022 after being granted an additional year of eligibility owing to the COVID-19 epidemic.[8] In his last season, he was ranked as the second-best pass-blocking centre in the country by PFF and was selected as an All-American.
