Derrick Henry clarifies that Baltimore was always his top choice, even over his hometown team, the Dallas Cowboys.

Despite residing in Dallas and training in the area, Henry expressed that the Ravens were his No. 1 destination while the Cowboys were just a passing interest.

In an interview on The Jim Rome Show, Henry revealed that Baltimore’s culture and the opportunity to play alongside Lamar Jackson were key factors in his decision.

The 30-year-old running back signed a lucrative two-year, $16 million deal with the Ravens, with the potential to earn up to $20 million in incentives.

Henry emphasized that everything happens for a reason and that he is excited for the opportunity to join the Ravens. With his powerful running style complementing Jackson’s dynamic playmaking abilities, the duo could pose a significant challenge for opposing defenses.
