Marijuana commonly known on the streets as weed or pot is constantly abused all over the world. Weed is legal in some countries such as Canada, Georgia, Malta, Mexico, South Africa, Thailand, and Uruguay, plus 21 states, 3 territories, and the District of Columbia in the United States and the Australian Capital Territory in Australia.
Does NFL test for weed?
Over the years, the NFL has had to deal with drug abuse cases with its players and it has cost quite a fortune to keep them out of problems. Most players abuse drugs to serve as a reliever from pain and also stress.
Just like every sport, the NFL has several drug policies preventing players from going the extra mile with drugs. Most drugs that have been reportedly been abused by players are Cocaine, heroin, weed, meth, and many more.
Marijuana, or weed or pot as many might call it, serves as a pain reliever and it is meant for medicinal purposes though it is abused.

Recently, in the 2021 season, the NFL decided to review its drug policy of the testing of weed amongst players. According to reports gathered, by the NFL and the NFL Players Association that players are now only required to test for marijuana once per year at the start of training camp.
According to the new policy, any players that fail the test are subject to a fine and luckily and unluckily a suspension follows suit, but not a lengthy suspension just like they did in the past.
Even though the NFL has come up with the new weed policy people, including players are advised against the use of Marijuana and all kinds of drugs. These drugs pose a serious health risk for people who use them and weed can cause severe brain trauma.
