Washington Commanders linebacker Frankie Luvu has recently signed a lucrative three-year deal worth $36 million after an impressive season with the Panthers in 2023. This move has been met with admiration from his new teammates, who have praised his energy and recent surge in performance.

One such teammate, safety Jeremy Chinn, who previously played alongside Luvu in Carolina, commended the linebacker for his high energy and commitment to giving his all on the field every game.

Luvu’s NFL journey began with the Jets in 2018, where he played in a limited role before making a significant impact with the Panthers starting in 2021. In the past two seasons, he has recorded 236 tackles, 12.5 sacks, nine passes defensed, three forced fumbles, and an interception, showcasing his versatility and playmaking ability.

Teammate Marcus Mariota, who spent the 2022 season with the Falcons, expressed his relief at no longer having to face Luvu on the opposing team, highlighting the linebacker’s impressive playmaking skills.

With the Commanders, Luvu will have the opportunity to learn from and play alongside veteran linebacker Bobby Wagner, a nine-time Pro Bowler. Wagner has already expressed his excitement at working with Luvu, noting his admiration for the young linebacker’s game.

Luvu, in turn, views the chance to work with Wagner as a blessing and an opportunity to further develop his skills. He aims to showcase his diverse skillset and contribute to the team in various roles, emphasizing his commitment to success.

The Commanders have already begun their offseason activities, with voluntary minicamps scheduled for April and OTAs set to kick off in May. With Luvu’s passion, energy, and determination, he is poised to make a significant impact on his new team in the upcoming season.
