A highly anticipated name has finally made its way back into the spotlight in the cornerback class – Iowa’s Cooper DeJean. The talented player had been sidelined due to a broken leg, but he is now cleared for football activities and will showcase his skills at his pro day on Monday, April 8.
Unfortunately, DeJean missed out on the NFL Scouting Combine where he was expected to excel as a tester. However, the 21-year-old will have the chance to impress NFL teams and regain the hype that surrounded him earlier in the pre-draft process. Despite his inactivity, DeJean was previously ranked in Bucky Brooks’ top five prospects at cornerback.
DeJean has been a standout player since his high school days, where he was a four-star recruit. He continued to impress at Iowa, earning first-team All-Big Ten honors in 2022 and 2023, as well as being a unanimous All-American in his final season.
Known for his skills as a cornerback and punt returner, DeJean will be looking to make an impact as the 2024 NFL Draft approaches on April 25 in Detroit.
