Greg McDermott is widely known as an American basketball coach who has been the head coach of the Creighton Bluejays men’s basketball team since 2010.
Greg served as the head coach at Wayne State College, North Dakota State, Northern Iowa, and Iowa State. He is the father of NBA player Doug McDermott.
Greg was born on November 25, 1964, and grew up in Cascade, Iowa, and played basketball for Cascade High School. He is currently 56 years old.
Greg played college basketball for the Northern Iowa Panthers from 1984 to 1988. In 1988, he earned a B.A. degree from Northern Iowa. He is the father of current NBA player Doug McDermott.
Greg began his coaching career as an assistant coach at North Dakota between 1989 and 1994, and during his tenure helped lead the Fighting Sioux to five consecutive NCAA Division II tournaments.
On March 29, 1994, he accepted his first head coaching position at Division II Wayne State College. He remained as the head coach at Wayne State College for six seasons and compiled an overall record of 116 wins and 53 losses (116–53) during his tenure there from 1994 to 2000.

Sean began his NFL coaching career as an assistant for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2001, serving as defensive coordinator from 2009 to 2010, and was later the defensive coordinator of the Carolina Panthers from 2011 to 2016.
Sean was born on March 21, 1974, in Omaha, Nebraska, and grew up in the Philadelphia suburbs. His family lived in West Chester and Paoli before settling in Lansdale when McDermott was in second grade.
Sean first attended North Penn High School before transferring to La Salle College High School, where he was named All-Southeastern Pennsylvania at defensive back in 1992 and graduated in 1993.

Sean became a defensive quality control coach and later an assistant defensive backs coach. In 2003, he replaced Steve Spagnuolo as defensive backs coach, as Spagnuolo was assigned linebackers coach.
Sean McDermott and Greg McDermott do not seem to be closely related in any ways just sharing the same late name that all.
