John Brockington had attended and played football at Ohio State University and was drafted in the ninth overall selection in the 1971 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers. He had served with the team for seven seasons dating from 1971 to 1977 and rushing for 5,024 yards.

Aside from being a Green Bay team member, John Brockington had also spent part of his final 1977 season with the Kansas City Chiefs. He finished his career with 5,185 rushing yards, 30 touchdown runs, and four touchdown catches.

Even with his death hanging around the corner, no official report has been made concerning the cause of his death. Though many believed he died of natural causes until then the world waits to hear about his autopsy reports.

The former player whose death has hit a core in the lives of many is said to have left behind a beautiful wife, Diane Scott. The duo got married in 2003 after dating for a while.

One interesting thing about this couple is that John Brockington had suffered a kidney infection. His then-future wife Dianne had donated her kidney to him in 2001.

Together with his wife, they run the John Brockington Foundation. The Foundation aims at providing free support and educational material relating to Kidney problems.

During John Brockington’s playing days, he received the All-Pro recognition and was named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in recognition of his outstanding performance.

John Brockington was also named to the Pro Bowl twice and was a four-time All-Pro selection during his time with the Green Bay Packers.
