If you’re an avid follower of the National Football League (NFL), then it’s impossible not to know about Trey Lance and how good he is.

He’s so good that sometimes people forget that he’s still only 22. The San Francisco 49ers quarterback has everything to become a legend of the sport and he seems to be on the right track.

Since navigating his way through the 2021 NFL Draft, it’s been an upward trajectory for Lance, who was named a starter in 2022. It’s normal for an athlete to gain popularity and it’s fair to say Lance is well-known within and outside America.

His parents, though, are not that famous.

Who are Trey Lance’s parents?

Trey Lance is the son of Carlton Lance (father) and Angie Lance (mother). He is the eldest son of his parents, with his younger brother also called Bryne Lance.

The Lance family is of mixed heritage, as Carlton is an African-American while Angie is Caucasian. Trey’s father was involved in American football, having played as a cornerback.

He featured in the Canadian Football League and World League of American Football for the Saskatchewan Roughriders and the London Monarchs, respectively.

Trey’s father was the one who trained him during his childhood when he developed an interest in football. His mother, Angie, was a professional teacher but always supported her son in his bid to become a professional athlete.

Narrating how the couple met, Angie said: “While Carl left and traveled the world to play football, I was teaching.

“I was a teacher for 10 years. We kept in touch during that time and dated during most of that time. And, then, when he stopped playing football, he came back to this part of the country.”

The ages of Trey’s parents are not readily available on the internet, but both are believed to be in their 50s.
