Recently, Mahomes was following The 2024 Masters at Augusta National, where Scottie Scheffler emerged as the winner.
Mahomes was thoroughly impressed by Scheffler’s performance at The Masters and took to his Twitter account to praise the golfer.
Scheffler, who previously won The 2022 Masters and The Arnold Palmer Invitational last month, is currently dominating the PGA Tour. He is also ranked as the number one golfer in the Official World Golf Ranking, a position he has held since March 2022.
The tradition of champions at The Masters being invested with a green jacket dates back to 1937 when Masters chairman Clifford Roberts wanted an easier way to identify competitors from other guests.
The green color of the jacket is a nod to the azalea trees, the most characteristic piece of nature at Augusta National. This prized item in the world of sports is not sold, but it only costs around 250 euros to produce.
