But the excitement didn’t stop there for Mahomes. He had a surprise encounter with soccer legend Lionel Messi at Arrowhead Stadium. Representing Inter Miami, Messi played a pivotal role in securing a victory against Sporting Kansas City, a team in which Mahomes and his wife own stakes. The match was moved to Arrowhead Stadium to accommodate Messi’s star power.
The pulsating game saw Inter Miami claim a win, with goals from Messi and Luis Suarez. Despite Sporting’s efforts, they couldn’t salvage a draw. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid also added star power to the event by gracing it with his presence.
