The Washington Commanders are gearing up for the 2024 NFL Draft by hosting visits from two top quarterback prospects.

According to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, LSU quarterback and 2023 Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels will kick off the visits on April 15, followed by North Carolina passer Drake Maye on April 16-17.

Rapoport also reported that Daniels has a scheduled visit with the New York Giants next Monday, indicating high interest in the talented quarterback. Maye has been a projected first-round pick since the 2022 collegiate season, while Daniels rose to prominence after a stellar final season at LSU in 2023.

In Bucky Brooks’ latest prospect rankings on NFL.com, Daniels currently ranks second behind USC quarterback Caleb Williams, who is expected to be the No. 1 overall pick. Maye is right behind Daniels in the rankings, making these visits crucial for the Commanders as they finalize their draft board.

With veteran quarterback Marcus Mariota currently leading the Commanders’ depth chart, Washington will likely select a quarterback with the second overall pick. This decision will shape the future of the franchise under the leadership of general manager Adam Peters and head coach Dan Quinn.

As Chicago is expected to select Williams with the first overall pick, the Commanders will have their choice of top prospects to lead their team into a new era.

The visits from Daniels and Maye will play a pivotal role in Washington’s draft strategy as they build towards a successful future in the NFL.
