The National Football League (NFL) is a professional American football league comprised of 32 clubs divided evenly between the American Football Conference (AFC) and the National Football Conference (NFC).

The NFL is one of the main professional sports leagues in the United States and Canada, as well as the top professional level of American football in the globe.

The NFL season begins in August with a three-week preseason, followed by an 18-week regular season that spans from early September through early January, with each club playing 17 games and having one bye week.

Following the regular season, seven teams from each conference (four division winners and three wild card teams) proceed to the playoffs, a single-elimination tournament that ends in the Super Bowl, which is played between the AFC and NFC conference champions in February. The league’s headquarters are located in New York City.

Where are NFL footballs made?

Since 1955, Wilson’s gifted craftsmen and women have handcrafted over 700,000 footballs every year in Ada, Ohio.

The NFL also boasts the largest average attendance (67,591) of any professional sports league in the globe and is the most popular sports league in the United States.

The Super Bowl is also one of the world’s largest club athletic events, with individual games accounting for many of the most-watched television programs in American history and all occupying Nielsen’s Top 5 list of all-time most-watched U.S. television broadcasts by 2015.

It is worth noting that the Green Bay Packers have won the most cumulative NFL championships, with thirteen, winning nine before the Super Bowl era and four later.

The New England Patriots and the Pittsburgh Steelers have shared the most Super Bowl triumphs with six apiece since the game’s inception. The Kansas City Chiefs are the current league champions, having defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35 in Super Bowl LVII on February 12, 2023, to bring the 2022 season to a close.
