Renowned NFL wide receiver, Antonio Brown, has hinted at the possibility of retiring from football in a recent announcement to his fans.

Brown, who has been out of the league since his controversial departure from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers mid-game in 2021, has been focusing on his rap career and other business ventures. He has also established himself as a prominent figure on social media.

To involve his fans in the decision-making process, Brown created a new Kick account where he plans to make his retirement announcement. Taking to Twitter, he asked his followers for input by stating, “Still deciding on which team to retire under.” This move indicates that he is seeking suggestions on which team he should choose for his retirement.

Despite playing for multiple teams like the Pittsburgh Steelers, Buccaneers, Las Vegas Raiders, and New England Patriots, Brown seems torn about where he should officially retire. He expressed reluctance to retire as a Steeler due to the team giving his former jersey number, No. 84, to Cordarelle Patterson. This leaves him considering his options among the teams where he has played throughout his career.

The decision may not solely be up to Brown, as the willingness of the teams to sign him to a one-day contract for his retirement ceremony is also a factor. The Steelers, despite their contentious past with Brown, might still be open to the idea of him returning for a farewell. However, it remains unclear whether the Raiders or Buccaneers would be receptive to welcoming him back after his abrupt exits from their teams. His brief time with the Patriots also raises questions about their involvement in his retirement plans.

While retiring in a Steelers jersey may seem most fitting due to his significant time with the team, the final decision will depend on the willingness of the teams involved to accommodate Brown’s desire for a ceremonial retirement.
